Why Mount Essence
Mount Essence started the way most worthwhile things do — out of a real problem that needed solving. Living in the foothills of the Canadian Rockies, where winters are long and the air pulls moisture from everything, we needed a body care product that actually worked. Not something that felt good for an hour and wore off. Something that held up.
When we couldn't find it, Igor started making it.
The Story
How it started
Igor was home with the kids when the idea began — experimenting with ingredients, working out what actually moisturized through an Alberta winter rather than just feeling good temporarily. The first formula came together out of necessity, not ambition.
From there, Marija took over the production side — mixing ingredients, refining the process, figuring out how to keep the formula stable and consistent batch after batch.
What pushed it beyond a family project was the response from people around us. Neighbours tried it, asked for more, then asked if they could buy it. That was the signal that what we had made was worth sharing.

Three lines, one standard
Everything we make comes from the same starting point — a formula that had to work on our own family's skin first. That hasn't changed.
Daily moisture for all skin types. Available in Unscented, Calming Lavender, and Vanilla Bliss.
A richer, more intensive formula for drier skin and tougher areas. Twist-up stick format.
Seven flavours, all built on the same vegan base of mango butter, candelilla wax, and plant oils.
